2·12 days agoBut what they both underline is that the gap in Europe’s digital rulebook — not just the missing definition of influencer, of people who shape what millions of Europeans believe — but identifying structural issues that might need a radically different approach when talking about building European alternatives.
In other words, not a new ‘W’ (that is essentially the same thing as the platform X, formerly Twitter, minus the toxic owner and algorithms), but a totally different approach.
Tornberg puts the way to a solution in structural terms. Platforms that mix community-building and identity-formation with political discourse turn toxic by design.
Different social functions need different spaces, designed for different purposes — not a single commercial platform optimising everything for engagement.
Neves arrives at the same conclusion through the specific case of influencers. Someone you trust about a skin product becomes someone you trust about a vaccine, an election, how to raise your children. The purposes get mixed — not because the influencer set out to mislead anyone, but because that’s how the relationship works, and the platform incentivises.
I find a bit annoying that Reddit/Lemmy was not considered in this opinion piece. Upvotes directed at content rather than at users and subscriptions built around communities and topics rather than around users could IMO solve the discussed problems.
3·17 days agoDa macht es absolut Sinn, das Wartehäuschen nach vorne zu ziehen und den Radweg hinter dem Häuschen herzuleiten.
Der Radweg wurde nicht verlegt. Der Radweg hört auf und der Gehweg wurde über einige Meter für FahrradfahrerInnen freigegeben. Dann fängt der Radweg wieder an. Wozu wurde überhaupt die Haltestelle verlegt? Man hätte auch ohne bauliche Maßnahmen die Verkehrsbeschilderung ändern können und Barrieren hinstellen können.
Die richtige bauliche Lösung sollte jedem offensichtlich sein. Die Haltestelle sollte an der Stelle der Busbucht stehen. Der Radweg würde dann hinter der Haltestelle vorbeiführen.
1·23 days agoDie meisten Arbeitgeber im Land kommen aus der Landwirtschaft und aus der Tourismus-Branche. Landwirtschaft ist stark exportorientiert. Da wäre ein Fokus und Schließung nach Innen ein ökonomischer Selbsmord und das muss den meisten SpanierInnen klar sein.
Entscheidender wird aber sein ob VOX mit PP eine Regierung bilden können. In Extramadura schien es nach letztjärhigen Wahlen unvermeidlich. Inzwischen sieht es dort eher nach Neuwahlen aus.

3·1 month agoDer Kauf von spanischen Erdbeeren wurden doch bereits in deutschen Medien häufig kritisiert. Außerdem, werden die Erdbeeren aus Spanien meist frisch improtiert und nicht als TK-Ware. Das ist sicher keine Alternative zu den ägyptischen Erdbeeren.

Ja, es ist der absurde Endzustand einer Berichterstattung die keine Ursachenzuschreibungen erlaubt. In diesem Fall ist nicht einmal klar wer die Redaktion verklagen sollte und weswegen.
Wer kein Smartphone zum Zahlen nutzen will, kann sich den digitalen Euro auch auf eine Chipkarte laden lassen.

I don’t know how old your linked article is, as it’s behind a paywall, but according to different sources aluminum US tariffs on aluminum were already implemented or increased in June 2018.
Trump introduced 25% tarif in March 2025 which was doubled to 50% in June 2025. Another source
does that mean Chinese companies are copying US ones on this?
Trump administration imposed tariffs on EU steel in March 2025. Did China also impose tariffs on EU steel in the meantime? Or, why should chinese companies copy the american companies?
The report is a compendium of unsourced claims made by an executive of an US aluminium company Novelis. There is an older piece by FT with more serious sources. It has no mention of China. However, it says:
Washington has imposed 50 per cent tariffs on imports of steel and aluminium, but not on scrap. As a result, US smelters have increased purchases of European scrap to produce fresh metal and avoid tariffs.
Man darf nicht davon ausgehen, dass sich die Einstellung Amerikas Europa gegenüber ändert.
Das ist möglich, es stellt aber eine Diskussion voraus welche viel mehr berücksichtigt als nur das was “Trump will”. Solche Diskussion fehlt in dem verlinkten Spiegel-Kommentar.
Der Bauernverband arbeitet also zusammen mit der Politik an der Lösung. Anscheinend wird eine für Bauern günstige Lösung auch ohne Proteste erwartet.
