So, for all of us let down by this, had what happened to Trossard been dealt with properly, we wouldn’t be where we are.
Not just that, Wolves played out of their skin. We’re still one up if City win.
But fuck we need a bone from the Toons please.
I’m not saying you’re wrong (because you bring up very reasonable points). But it’s getting annoying to see these other teams frequently play out of their skin against us and then crumble in recent weeks in the face of Man City (and, increasingly, Man United since Carrick took over there).
As for decisions going against us, we all know it happens. And it will continue to happen. There’s a bias against us. And I know there’s not much we can do about it. But either way it doesn’t put points on the table.
I agree with others here: there’s something seriously off with our mentality. It’s like a layer of trauma we can’t get around. Result it’s like the Leeds thrashing out a thin veneer on it. But the problem remains.
The vibe in the squad is positive and the camaraderie is awesome. But I’m m not seeing the cold, cruel ruthlessness I saw with the Invincibles back in the day.

I agree with this. It feels like these lower table teams know that they can rattle us and get a result out of us in a way that they can’t with City. It’s very much an us problem, because its not like these teams intentionally try against us then decide to half ass it against City. Our mental fragility has been exposed.
Yeah, it’s creeping in, no doubt. We were outplayed in the midfield second half and they wanted it more.
I noticed the same shit this match though with our players getting bodied. I think that’s part of the reason we’re reluctant to contest just as hard sometimes because we’ll be punished.
Zubimendi wasn’t crash hot either tonight.
They can all smell blood now. None of them will go easy on us. It’s time we started taking these teams on more. We’ll have to. Starting with shit and dogshit next two.
There’s something very wrong in the headspace of the team right now.
I don’t think I’ll watch this weekend, we all know how it’ll end.
I don’t know what needs to be done to light a fire under the squad’s arse or help them get over this low block mental block. But at this trajectory Man City will over take us in about 2-3 games.
And to drop points against fucking Wolves is ridiculous. I know every game is competitive blah blah blah. But we can’t even beat a club that is getting roasted almost every week and it’s basically already relegated?! Really?!!
Yeah that was freaking abysmal…really should’ve killed off the game after Hincapie’s goal but not even sure what they are doing letting Wolves get possession time and time again. It really was inevitable.
“I am just going outside and may be some time.”
Yeah I feel it. It’s a crap morning.
Imagine having to go to bed on it.
On a bright note, it’s good to see more people here. The more we have, the better our discussion will be.
I don’t miss much from Reddit but the football engagement I do miss.
Genuinely can’t see us getting more than 1 point from Spurs and Chelsea in this form. City have Newcastle and Leeds next. I think they’ll be top by early March.
Cope:
- We’re still top. We earned the cushion to allow us to drop almost exactly this many points. Furthermore, that cushion was formed because believe it or not, City does drop points too.
- If City can finish the last third of the season winning every game then they’re quite good and should win. In all likelihood they won’t, so there will be opportunities to bounce back.
- Havertz is coming back.
- Wolves did this to us in December too. They’re ass, I know, but after yesterday it does kind of seem like they just have our number. It’s weird but it happens to other good teams.
