@[email protected] Your posting of this finally promoted me to search for some of the history of the old Penn station. I found this article, which has photos of the completed interior, including the glass ceiling and steel beams that you refer to here. The demolition pictures are quite sad. The article also has links to material, with photos, about the planning and construction of the Moynihan Train Hall. I hope you and your readers enjoy this article.

@[email protected] I used to drive across this bridge regularly. On a foggy day, if you were driving on the low, straight section, the bridge would disappear into the fog in front of you and also behind you. It was as if the bridge went on forever. Rather like a Twilight Zone episode.
@[email protected] The distorted reflection is a really cool effect!

@[email protected] Cool! I lived in Foster City long ago. In the evening if I tuned an AM radio between stations, I could listen to the KGEI broadcast.

@[email protected] Oooooh, I’ve never seen it lit up at night!

@[email protected] This is great. When I was growing up, whenever we drove through this section of SF or Daly City it would inspire my Mom to start singing this song.
@[email protected] Very interesting. It reminds me of some of the railing work at the Marin County Civic Center, which was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Closeup photo here:
Other similar railing work can be seen on photo 3 on this page (which includes the context for the above photo) along with many other interesting design elements:
