This exactly. I don’t care what’s happening at work. If I’m not “at work” I’m not available for work at all in anyway.

Gaming@lemmy.world•Three developers' different philosophies on difficulty for their gamesEnglish
148·7 天前How is it not gatekeeping?
You’re saying some people shouldn’t get to play a game where difficulty options are an easy solution.
A book or a movie isn’t an equivalent comparison. Not too mention there ARE simplified versions of popular books or abridged versions and movie guides and so on anyway.
Almost all the time this is brought up it’s for single player games. Why do you care if I need a bit more health to get through it? How does that take anyone away from you? I assure you nothing will be lost by allowing people to play it with double the health, or without a arbitrary grinding mechanic that inflates the games length, or whatever really.
No one is asking for the subject matter to be dumbed down, or for the story to be shallow or transparent.
Why should someone not get to play through a game because they insisted their hand and can’t dodge anymore?

249·7 天前No one is asking devs to remove hard mode. They are asking them to include an easy mode for people who can’t deal with hard mode. People with physical or mental barriers, people who don’t have time, or really any reason.
This is no different than inclusivity.
YOU might not remember anything that wasn’t challenging but that doesn’t mean it’s like that for others. I remember everything from Skyrim. I love Skyrim. I had fun with it so I remember it.
I don’t remember much from Elden ring cus I never made it. I struggled at it and couldn’t her anywhere.
I can back years later and cheated on a bit more health and more health potions. It was challenging still but I could at least experience the rest of the game.
Gate keeping sucks. Let everyone in.

6·7 天前Aqua Sorceress checking in.
There are some pretty good studies showing flooding might actually not do all that much and that fluoride is like only really important thing. It’s kind of wild. Some show that swishing mouth was is just as good or water picks too. Long of why you always get different opinions from different dentists.
Science VS did an episode on the same subject too.
I didn’t slack off after the research but it was interesting none the less. Its in my routine so whatever.

9·8 天前Your inaction is hurting people here. It’s hurting people like me. LGBTQ folks. By “not taking part” you’re sending a message to people trying to kill me that you don’t care if I die and they should just go for it…

Ciaphas Cain books are great. Any Dan Abnett works are good
The writer for ciaphas cain too!
It never gets repaired.
It’s a trilogy of trilogies. Each with a focus one 1 person. Eisenhorn, Ravenor, Bequin.
They are great books in my opinion. I loved them.

2·11 天前I agree 100%
I don’t think we’re in a sim. Even giving us the ability to think it could be one would be something to avoid. I do like the thought experiment at least.

3·12 天前Hijacking the simulation that hard feels like it would defeat the purpose of the sim. You interested with the experiment and can never be sure you didn’t influence the results one way or another.
I’ll let the mathgicians figure it out tho. I’m dumb.

I need to look into this I guess
You can sleep in Skyrim? I’ve been awake for 97 days…
We do know the outcome of many things based on what we can do today though don’t we?
Climate change, voting, smoking, drinking, speeding, touching the hot stove, eating the boiling magma hot pizza right out of the box, so on. Don’t we know the likely outcome of these things? Don’t we get told all the time w bad thing will happen if we do x and we still do them?

Depends on which part of the orbit. Perigee (closest point) is ~ 354,491 km surface to surface. Apogee (farthest point) is ~ 397,291 km surface to surface. At Apogee you could got them all. At perigee not at all.
Never cried reading a book. And I read a ton. Cry with music, TV, and movies. Never books though. Weird. Never thought about it.
