1·2 years agoHmmmm. I certainly can’t think of any…
- Linux (including its distributions like Ubuntu, Fedora)
- Apache HTTP Server
- Mozilla Firefox
- LibreOffice
- VLC
- GIMP
- Blender
- WordPress
- MySQL
- Python
- Git
- Docker
- TensorFlow
- Kubernetes
While these names may not be on the forefront of the public’s mind, they’re still insanely ubiquitous. There’s no reason this needed to be a proprietary tracking service. Especially not one that takes advantage of those with disabilities.

5·2 years agoWas just emulating this last night. Thank heavens for PCSX2 at 4k60. The art is so well done in this game it still looks awesome at high res.
I still get flashbacks to the Tropical Drive Westbound time trial with the F1 car. Took me years before I got good enough to beat it. Also one of the first games that I got 100% on.

In a lot of countries it’s not a legal requirement, but you should still wear a helmet at all times. Sure, they may mess up your hair, but that’s a small sacrifice to pay for something that could save your life.

Technology@lemmy.zip•Nvidia’s finally replacing GeForce Experience with this all-in-one “Nvidia app”English
3·2 years agoOh how exciting! They moved all the menus around! How useful! It will at least be nice to never have to use the Stone Age settings app.
CCleaner also hasn’t been necessary since at least Windows 7. I remember working in a PC repair shop when people would just arbitrarily run CCleaner on its most aggressive settings whether it was needed or not and it would always break more things than it fixed.
This is still my favorite meme of all time and I have no idea why.
Hit me with that Opus No. 1

Wallpapers@lemmy.ca•Have you ever coordinated your lock and home screen wallpapers?
32·2 years agoI do this! Lately I’ve been using DALL-E to create two vector art pieces and I flatten the colors using iPhones built-in filters. Works really well. Also apologies to those who will wince at my busy home screen.

Definitely not the case. You can easily get all-in-one mini PCs for $400-500 that can play most any new game at 1080p without much issue. Thanks to all the new stuff like DLSS/FSR, you can get away with a lot more for a lot less.

3·2 years agoMan, I’d honestly be really disappointed if that’s the case. It’s not even that I’m a big fan of WB characters specifically, but getting another classic cartoon-reality crossover is almost always a blast. And it’s not like their branding couldn’t use something new. Can’t remember the last time I’ve thought of most of their characters.
I’m definitely the odd one out here. I’ve had the same $10 set that’s carried me through probably a dozen campaigns.

At the time it came out, not really. There wasn’t really anything else to compete with it. If I’m not mistaken, it was the first handheld FPGA console.
