Buy European@feddit.uk•Inside the far-right network targeting Europe’s digital rules | Corporate Europe ObservatoryEnglish
4·5 days agoI prefer privacy over both, which is what GDPR is doing. And commercialized purposes or government surveillance is the same when the government can just buy data from corporations.
Also, far right and big tech is anti-regulation while being pro surveillance, viz child verification laws in California sponsored by big tech.
I love the owl looking the other way

2·16 days agoIt’s quite misleading to say 14 when it’s only March. That said, the drop to 120 last year is still alarming.

7·16 days agoI watched some documentaries about Earth Liberation Front, and feel like something similar is coming. But instead of saving environment, it would be about saving privacy and democracy. And it will end the same. Immediate recognition as domestic terrorists by the government and huge investigation to destroy the movement. Saving humanity is crime that has to be immediately stopped. And anything that supports corporations is sacred, even pedophilia.

13·18 days agoI don’t think AI is to blame. They just don’t need those people. I heard big tech hired a lot of people to steal them from smaller businesses, so they could not compete with them. If those employees had been useful to them, they wouldn’t fire them.

22·21 days agoWhat do you even mean? Calculators and LLMs are solving different problems. And there are a lot of calculators and a lot of LLMs. Also, calculator accuracy could be approaching 0% because they all have limited precision and there are infinite numbers. Some of the calculators even can’t correctly answer
0.1+0.2, while most LLMs can do that.

World News@lemmy.world•Donald Trump cuts all US trade with Spain over Iran war disputeEnglish
153·29 days agoMaybe losing in the short time, but getting rid of fossil dependency is in my opinion a good thing. And most of the other things have (maybe suboptimal) alternatives.
Also, now Trump has no leverage against Spain, so that’s another good thing? And its time to increase trade with China, India, etc. 😸

Let’s see the people split into pro-simlife and pro-simchoice camps.
