Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why don't protestors who oppose Trump/ICE open carry their guns to prevent what's currently occuring in the US ie kidnapping, assaults etc?
1·3 个月前Having a Lemmy account at all is bad OPSEC. Gotta have active accounts on state-approved social media for that.

11·2 年前That’s a fair question. I think I didn’t like being accused of doing nothing in 2020. I’m sorry for jumping down your throat, that was over the top.
Can we meet in the middle? I would appreciate an apology for insinuating I’m a party loyalist.

12·2 年前I never said that and I haven’t advocated voting blue at any point here.
You continue to misrepresent my position. Seriously and sincerely go fuck yourself.

22·2 年前Using the outcomes of the primaries to illustrate a point about voter engagement is not the same thing as “defending the 2020 primaries.” I really want to give you the benefit of the doubt, but you can’t even understand my position.
I won’t be goaded into defending candidates, I’m just calling you out for directly supporting voter apathy in this comment chain. By doing so, you do the work of those who would oppress you even further.

3·2 年前I’m not trying to convince you to vote for or against anyone. I don’t care if you vote third party, I sometimes do that too. At least they help elevate calls for reforming our voting system.
You have constructed an idea of a person that does not fit what I represent. You are assigning attributes to me that aren’t accurate or based on what I’ve stated.
You are speaking in defense of someone who speaks in support of voter apathy. That’s the only thing you’ve done that merits a response.

43·2 年前It’s cute you think I wasn’t engaging in that, but go off.
To your point regarding the 2020 primaries, take a look at how they went in States that have the highest levels of voter engagement. It might shock you to learn that when more people vote, we see better outcomes.
Keep poo-pooing the vote. If you won’t do the bare fucking minimum, you don’t deserve a government that represents you. End of story.

62·2 年前You’re complaining without presenting any alternatives, which is categorically unhelpful.
You’re advocating for voter apathy which is supremely regressive.
If voting didn’t matter, there wouldn’t be such a concerted effort to disenfranchise voters, via the electoral college and otherwise.
You’re not convincing me or anyone else here that you’ve got a sober view on this; it seems like you’re hoping that accelerationism towards collapse will net a positive result. Complain all you want about voting and how imperfect it is, your vision of apathy and hopelessness is actively hateful towards anyone who wants a better world.

71·2 年前See Russia for an example as to why voter apathy won’t result in the society you want. Propaganda that influences you to not vote at all is probably the most effective with respect to destroying any semblance of representative government.
It’s reasonable to be upset at the state of things, but you’re abdicating your civic duty for nothing. Do you really believe that will void you of any responsibility for what happens next? It certainly won’t help you avoid the consequences.
jack@sh.itjust.workstoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•I should probably check to see what South China Morning Post has to say about it.

The most important way BG3 can improve is by fixing the right-click to examine bug.
If you try to examine anything during initiative while another player is selecting a reaction, it breaks examining until the next load screen. Happens nearly every initiative in my four player campaign.
What is this, Facebook forwards from babushka?

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Do any of you have that one service that just breaks constantly? I'd love to love Nextcloud, but it sure makes that difficult at timesEnglish
8·2 年前I’ve just finally and fully spun down a proxmox server I’ve been running and updating as my home lab for six years.
Every major update seemed to break something. Upgrades were always a roll of the dice as to whether it would even boot. It’s probably at least partially my fault for using an old R710 and running docker directly on the OS instead of within a container, but it was still by far my least reliable piece of kit.
The last
apt updateremovedsudo, and I can’t be arsed to rebuild, so I’ve moved the critical bits to a fleet of SBCs. Powering that fucker down was a huge relief.

3·2 年前Please don’t feel ashamed… Intent matters a lot, and I see you and the mod team trying your ass off to do right by our community. You made a good faith effort to connect with a bad faith community and you honestly deserve props for trying.
At hexbear, anger, conspiracy, and disrespect for everyone else is the primary focus, and leftism is nothing more than the vehicle they choose to deliver it. They actively encourage trolling and discourage philisophical deviation beyond tokenism. They actually believe the CIA is out to get them. Anyone who’s not with them is a dirty liberal, Nazi, going to the gulag, etc. It’s exactly the same vocabulary and mindset as the conservative extremists, or even any religious cult. At best, they believe they need to fight fire with fire, when the better answer is to smother the fire with a blanket.
They could remake the world exactly the way they claim to want, but they’d still be dickheads. We’re better off without them; I get the sense they’re happier without us as well.
Thanks for trying, seriously. You make this instance a better place.
