There’s probably no way to do that that won’t make gameplay/the decks more imbalanced. So I guess it depends a bit on the people you are playing with. If they are more established/entrenched players, I’d probably leave out the collector’s booster altogether. If they’re more of the casual “I want to see big things happen” crowd then I feel like doing it via dice roll is probably one of the better approaches, because it’s another way of adding a bit more spectacle/excitement to it.

Europe@feddit.org•Germany: Leftwing militants claim responsibility for arson attack on Berlin power gridEnglish
31·1 month agoAnd what does ‘left-wing’ and ‘right-wing’ even mean, at least in the extreme forms? What difference does it make when violence rules? Violence, imho, doesn’t make sense.
That doesn’t mean that there aren’t very clear patterns of violence that are different for violence perpetrated by people following far-left or far-right ideologies. You wouldn’t see a far-left burning down a shelter for asylum seekers for example.

12·1 month agoTo be fair, putting him on the frontline risking his life for a just cause is about the best use you can make of a Nazi. He gets to do what he’s trained for his whe life and we don’t have to mourn the loss of a beloved community member if he dies.

Europe@feddit.org•Hungary loses right to EU aid worth more than €1 billionEnglish
55·1 month agoI’m always surprised that this kind of rhetoric works. If the EU were such a big bully, nothing would stop Hungary from just leaving. Like, at some point you’d have to ask yourself why a supposedly competent and well-meaning leader keeps you in a relarionship with an entity that allegedly only wants the worst for you.

Ok, but that’s not really an unusual color for honey. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File%3ATexas_State_Fair_honey.jpg
I feel like at least for central navigation elements like single word buttons, forms like “benutzys” are not so suitable. Because there will already be a usability trade-offs in using less established terms. People will understand a bit less clearly what is going on and how to navigate things. So things like “Nutzende” which can still be derived from the more commonly used gendered terms by using the regular rules of language will be much more legible and provide less of a riddle than a term like “nutzy” which basically invents new grammar. (in general I do actually like the “invent new grammar” approach to gender neutral language because I think it’s the most thorough and elegant approach overall. But it can also be a bit much/hard to comprehend if you’re not familiar).

51·5 months agoThey also sell cars to people who are much more likely to be able to afford shelling out a bit extra cash to finance the transition to electric mobility. Given that maintaining a livable planet is not an optional nice to have thing, I’d argue they are even more to blame than some others.

01·9 months agoYou say it’s 50/50 based on your own experience/anecdotal evidence. Admins will probably be able to make that determination with a much greater deal of accuracy based on what they see happening on their instance. So it makes sense to leave the choice to them/enable them to make that choice, right?

Europe@feddit.org•Merz says Netanyahu will be able to visit Germany despite ICC warrantEnglish
13·1 year agoMerkel herself was a bit of an outlier for the CDU though. Most of the party is and has been more conservative/further right than her.
As long as people think that a largely volunteer run ecosystem can be held to the very same expectations as products from some of the most wealthy companies on the planet without willingness to contribute or accept setbacks, I’m very glad that Linux isn’t mainstream.

Alternatively, if you have a good grip on how good of a player/drafter everyone is, you could just do the picks in reverse order of skill. So most novice player gets to pick first
Edit: could also have the pick order reversing each round for the collector’s booster, so it’s 1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 3, 2, 1 instead of 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4
