1·2 年前I’ve been trying to deploy an arr stack since O saw your comment… Seems a great stack but I’ve been struggling to do it…or the arr programs complain about the torrent client folder or the torrent client complains about the download folder… I’ve played with docker containers before but the arr stack seems confusing when we talk about volumes. And besides that even when I can download some file is really hard to find dual audio movies in my language on public trackers anyway… I tried to deploy the stack more for fun than for the money… For now the upside of convenience and being able to watch movies with my daughter without having to find them or waiting for them to be found and downloaded is higher than the downside of paying the subscription.

13·2 年前Yeah convenience is what still keeps me on subscriptions. With torrents I have to find 2 versions of the movie or with I have luck I can find a dual audio version. Besides that I have to find the subtitles for the movie… Sometimes is hard to find a synchronized one in the first try…sometimes jellyfin just doesn’t show the subtitles right and the text gets out of sync even with the right sub file…too much trouble

Linux@lemmy.ml•How Ubuntu Linux snuck into high-end Dell laptops (and why it's called 'Project Sputnik')
2·2 年前I had this issue when I bought my laptop with Ubuntu and tried to install Debian. Since I needed the laptop right away I kept Ubuntu that came installed that was running flawless till 4 months ago when I switched to Fedora

science@lemmy.world•Depression Linked to Ultra-Processed Foods, Artificial Sweeteners
8·2 年前Yeah, planning is terrible. I forget to put meat out of the fridge all the time! When I remember it’s almost time to cook. About the expense difference, I’m poor in a poor country in which ironically raw and fresh food is cheaper than processed food so luckily I’m forced to cook and be healthier. I lost 18 pounds since I lost my job because I stopped buying meals and processed junk food when doing groceries. If I wasn’t broke I’d say it was a blessing in disguise.
Good Lord I’ve used ffmpeg for years to convert my videos and just realized today it’s name could be a naughty search word in adult sites

Open Source@lemmy.ml•Does anyone actually successfully use OSMAnd or Organic Maps for navigation consistently?
1·2 年前I’ve used organic maps for a while but had a problem in a trip I had to arrive on time and there was a change in the road that wasn’t in open street maps that almost caused me losing a test I had so when I really need to make it I choose Waze lately. And I live in a big city where traffic info is a must so I’m using less of organic maps because of that…Waze gets me off heavy traffic while organic maps doesn’t show arriving time correctly so…great alternative but not that reliable about traffic info depending on your needs

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What values are most important for you to instill in your kids, and why?
2·2 年前Intelligence is not an inherited thing you just born with… In the long run hard work studying beats an intelligent person who doesn’t want to work hard…
Failing is not a big deal …it’s more important to try again, change plans if needed, but always try again
Music is beautiful and has so much more beyond pushed content from social networks… I try to show my kid some jazz, blues and Brazilian music
And sure…that the government can’t give us something without robbing someone else first…that there’s no such a thing as free stuff
Everything is a transpiled Rract SPA loaded with trackers …want to read your neighbors blog? Suck these hundreds trackers …

Yeah I can relate to that…I’m on vyvanse for a year now and the other day I gave one to my wife that had to do a test she was studying a lot to pass and. After like 4 hours she looked like a neth head literally running around the house while I was drinking coffee and reading a book. For the first time in forever all that noise inside my head is gone.
