My dumb ass just realised that I haven’t accepted cookies from airlines or skyscanner ever since I was an adult so maybe that’s why lol

I haven’t had this happen to me with European airlines I think. Is there maybe some law forcing them to keep steady prices? From what I’ve seen (though I don’t fly that often) prices don’t really fluctuate and just rise with more demand, with some last minute tickets going for pennies.

Breaking an e-book with an actual book is hilarious

Damn that really is disappointing 🥲

Damn that’s really disappointing. Fuck.
We do but we mostly prefer Bolt, though it depends per country. Personally I only used Bolt once, and Uber zero times (though I’ve used Uber Eats multiple times before)

I didn’t realise there’s so many horror movies that did this! Definitely will check those out, thanks!

To be honest anything by Tarkovsky is a must-watch.

Bonkers movie I love it.

If you liked the confined space of Late Night with The Devil then you should definitely check out The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant; and The Connection. Also 12 Angry Men if you haven’t. Older movies but they’re so good at this specific thing.

If it doesn’t matter when it came out then it would be Yi Yi by Edward Yang. It’s a Taiwanese film from 2000 that is so beautiful I cried while watching it twice in the cinema recently during its 4K restoration and 25th anniversary run. Everything about it is pretty much perfect in my opinion (with maybe the murder twist being a bit odd).
It tells the story of three different family members - the father, the daughter, and the son, as they just… deal with life to be honest. Old loves reappear, new ones are formed, things go well, thing go bad. It’s beautifully simple, just a film about people, but the way it’s presented - from the cinematography, to the writing, music, and acting - is done so well that I personally can’t help but feel it’s a must-watch for every human being.
For some fun extras that I won’t opine much also:

Yeah and the only good thing about it back then was the PDF viewer tbh

TicketSwap does this and works with the venues I think.

Did someone say Paris, Texas?

Money, power, and brain damage.

Ah turns out they removed that rule in 2020 🙃

Meanwhile here in the Netherlands smaller cinemas stopped selling food in general, and instead have a bar (often serving pizza) and don’t allow cooked food into the screening itself and somehow cinemas are packed.

It’s already prohibited for them to own the movie theaters! And for good reason! It’s just that the US politicians have been too busy enacting fascism to update the law for streaming and TV.
Just fyi the law doesn’t make the batteries replaceable like on old phones, where you had to pop the entire back off, but just reasonably replaceable, meaning an end user with normalish tools (they don’t specify which afaik) should be able to open it. I imagine we will see thin designs like the iPhone Air where all the non-replaceable parts are in a plateau and the battery is easily reachable with a bunch of screws and maybe some prying. At least that’s what I hope for.
