1·8 months ago@[email protected] The place is a restaurant and not what I would call a pub, and there’s definitely no video poker machines, patio, or cove park below it, so I think you’ve got someplace else in mind… But that part of Depoe Bay is tiny so I’m sure you’re close enough! :)

1·8 months ago@[email protected] Ah, that’s very cool and sounds like a fun set building gig. Have they given you various height specs to work towards?
This also reminds me that I need to go find a copy of The Backstage Handbook. I’ve been meaning to get a copy for I think a couple of years now. :)

1·8 months ago@[email protected] It is a cool spot to visit. My kid and I went magnet fishing there once a pulled out a bunch of scrap and old railroad spikes, which I use in my blacksmithing.
What’s the story behind the fake I-beams?

1·8 months ago@[email protected] @[email protected] They said there was a revival underway in Scotland, but I imagine it would be tougher to keep going with fewer speakers in Canada.

2·8 months ago@[email protected] I use my bench (engineer) vise very often as well. In fact I just used it this morning! Extremely useful things…
They are of limited use for blacksmithing though. For that, you really want/need a post vise.

2·8 months ago@[email protected] Post vises are wonderful, very useful things, which is why they were so common back in ye olde days… They always catch my eye when I see one, like in a video game or a tv show. :)

1·8 months ago@[email protected] @[email protected] Good! My kid will eventually need a job and preferably their own money. 😂
I suspect that on the pay front being a trained and competent computer user likely helps, as opposed to just like a field surveyor of old… Maybe?

1·8 months ago@[email protected] @[email protected] For blacksmithing, I rely on it second only to my forge and anvil.

@SnokenKeekaGuard There’s definitely some Lucky Rabbit’s Foot revenge going on there.
