Online, the last line in the story is often referenced in discussion threads and comments to mock hyperbolic statements or tall tales.

It says that room is 10’ wide, so that’s like a five foot bed… I’d hate to sleep on that!

This white power cross is a popular symbol amongst Europe’s hardcore Nazis. It is molded after the Celtic cross, seeking to make an heritage issue of it.

Yikes, that must have been scary! My cat started refusing her treats about a month ago, which is how I had been giving her her meds for the past year, I can really relate to that struggle get them to take their meds. If only they’d understand that it’ll make them feel better!

I’m in an urban area where my apartment building is wired for only one ISP. $92 a month, the speed test I just did was 400 down, 20 up.

Wouldn’t the money go into escrow? If you could preemptively deposit your money, would that count as spending it in this made up scenario?

I was always a fan of #BADA55 when I needed a placeholder color. Not only is it badass, it’s a nice mellow green.

Especially seeing them out of context. I once ran into a newscaster on public transit, and thought they looked somehow different from the rest of us, but couldn’t really place it. At some point later, I had vaguely recognized them as a newscaster on one of the local stations that I didn’t watch, so I still don’t really know who they were.

My curiosity is piqued too! I’m mostly commenting so that I can check back later, but…

• Are they wearing chain mail gloves (for sharks or cutting meat) that the hair would catch?

• Going forearm deep in food, to stir or, I don’t know…?

• Reaching into hot ovens or crucibles that the hair would singe?

• Going forearm deep to help birth sheep or cows?

• Or are they a wristwatch/hand model?

She’s so precious! Sometimes you just want to sleep on a pile of trash…

I think about that same sentiment from this comic too often.

I found someone had posted this on Reddit two years ago. Over there u/Vectrexian had said:

It’s a clunky mech piloting game for the Sega 32X. The actual gameplay is pretty mediocre, but the music is pretty good (with famed Sonic series composer Jun Senoue on the sound team). One rather “interesting” feature of the game is the character portraits during dialogue, which is where this photo is from. The text was edited for the joke though, that text isn’t in the original game (it’s not even the right font). You can actually change the portraits to anime-style drawings in the options menu but these are funnier, especially when the mouths move.
