The British spelling also looks a bit mental to be honest. But I’m sure it’s France’s fault.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Wait, my body's own heat is enough? Always has been.
1·1 年前And yet it is the normal temperature for saunas and has been for centuries. I stand by my statements too.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Wait, my body's own heat is enough? Always has been.
1·1 年前It isn’t. The air being 100 degrees and dry isn’t the same as pouring 100 degree water on yourself. You’re only sitting there for like 15-20 minutes. Ask any Finn and I guarantee you that 100 degrees is what you aim for.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Wait, my body's own heat is enough? Always has been.
1·1 年前Exactly. And 100 degrees is what a good sauna should be. Maybe I could go as low as 80, but 50 is absolutely pointless.

1·1 年前50 degrees is half of sauna temp at best though.

Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•Why only cyclists should wear hi-viz in the dark? Cars can too!English
4·1 年前The front lights are allowed to flash in Denmark and it’s super annoying, and dangerous in my opinion. The lowest allowed blinking frequency is also way lower than rear lights in Sweden, so it’s like being flashed by a camera repeatedly.

Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•Why only cyclists should wear hi-viz in the dark? Cars can too!English
3·1 年前IIRC there was only a short window when turning the rear lights off was a thing, and the law has since gone back to having to turn them on when the car is turned on. While there are still people in cars like that, they’re a minority.
For that you might need an analyst. Or a therapist?
USB-c are more convenient and have a wider range of uses.
How? Since USB-C has been around for so long, A-C cables have been the norm from the start. Everyone has them already. I don’t see the downside.
Wait. I thought they were saying it’s annoying that there are now USB-C outlets replacing USB-A, which would be a waste. They actually want USB-C outlets?! I’d guess at least half of all USB-C cables are USB-A to USB-C. There’s absolutely no reason to switch from A-outlets.
Ah, so it’s a sort of punishment for yourself for not drinking it while it was hot? You made it, so now by god you’ll drink it? Maybe invest in an insulated cup or thermos then. 😂
You wouldn’t. You’d make new coffee. Not trying to be condescending. I literally wouldn’t reheat coffee because if it’s been standing long enough to get cold, it no longer tastes good.
Which makes it a bit sad to have to kill them. If only they’d evolve the sense of self preservation that comes from not being in people’s face every second people are outside.
it seemed exactly like what I would expect from something “calibrating its compass”/finding its bearings.
Or it was dancing a thank you message to you before taking off.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•“Wherever you get your podcasts” is a radical statementEnglish
1·2 年前Correcting myself here. AntennaPod does have silence trimming, but it’s neither a player button nor in settings, but in a …-menu at the top of the player, which made it a bit hard to find (Same can be said about some settings in Pocket Casts.) and there’s no graduation, so it’s mad max only, from how it sounds.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•“Wherever you get your podcasts” is a radical statementEnglish
1·2 年前I would think podcasts without RSS is a tiny minority, and I wouldn’t take them seriously. And I’ve never even heard of ivoox.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•“Wherever you get your podcasts” is a radical statementEnglish
1·2 年前You made me check. Since August 2018, I’ve cut about 1d using variable speed, and 1.5d using silence trimming. I’m only using mild at the moment, and have used medium before, but mad max was too much for my taste. But since I’ve listened for 83d, silence trimming is a <2% saving for me, so it might not mean much.
Edit: I do use it extensively specifically when catching up on the backlog of a podcast. So it probably accounts for way more during those times.

More physical controls is great, so I see this as a win. For navigation and media, I don’t want to be without the screen, but I hate that my ventilation controls are 50 % hidden under touch controls, meaning I usually don’t bother to change them while I drive, because it requires looking away too much.
