  • Good, wonderful night…

The following is probably not for the peaceful night, at least in my case, so please skip it if the night must stay in peace.

It’s 0343 here, and I am not sure what to believe anymore… I’ll share some conversation excerpts of my messages from another conversation…

Since I am currently still in Austria for the job case, I got also interested in the following…
While reading the article (about social media surveillance), a few weeks ago, I heard a German-lyric song playing in the website’s built-in web player.
One of the detail that also interested me is that the genre as still magnificent Dark themed Rap or HipHop I don’t usually listen to, and if I am not mistaken, some name it Street Noir, is not quite frequent to hear… in Austria nor Germany, unless it’s quite underground fields of events.
I tried searching for it, but prior downloading and checking out the media file itself, I tried multiple services in addition to the common as Shazam, but nothing was found…

    // vmfunc.re/music/peter-pan.mp3

Yet, in the file itself we may see meta tags, including the artist “Kurt M.T.”, and here we find the actual artist in their single published venue, 12 days ago, and… apparently…

    Apparently, it is...

It is an LLM/AI generated “song”…

    Title: Peter Pan v2
    Genre: jazz-hop, noir, downtempo
Artist: Kurt Michael Treichl (KMT KI Media, AI Music Austria)
// Album cover and music were created… using AI support…
    Source: https://soundcloud.com/kmtkimedia/14-peter-pan-v2-14

    I… I… adored… the sound of it… the pace, and even… even… danced… for it… I did… but… b… oh… no…
    I do still feel betrayed… I feel… r… I am sorry…
    Hinc illae… lacrimae…
    … … …

  • It was built on plain ground and was designed for flank defence… It is the largest enclosure type castle in Lithuania, and one of the largest castles in Central and North-Eastern Europe…

From the late 15th century onwards, the castle was gradually abandoned following a series of fires, the most significant of which occurred in the early 16th century…
During the 17th–18th centuries it was reorganized into a farm and a bakery…
In 1812, Medininkai Castle was occupied by the Grande Armée retreating from Moscow, during the failed French invasion of Russia. The wooden buildings were demolished and burned in the winter to provide warmth for the French troops…

In the middle of the 20th century… The reconstruction of the donjon was supported by the Lithuanian-American Society of Engineering Architects (PLIAS). After the castle’s restoration, its museum currently exhibits large collection of items…

  • Here’s my problem with using GPT, or an LLM generally for anything1, even if the LLM would do it ‘effectively’, I will speak specifically of looking for information as an example, and let’s assume the following scenario; ever used the “I’m feeling Lucky” button in Google? This button usually gives the first result of the search without actually showing you the search results, let’s assume that, you lived in a perfect world where in every Google search you have ever done, you clicked this button, and it was extremely, extremely, precise and efficient in finding the perfect fit for whatever you were looking for, that is to say, every search you have ever done in your life, was successful, from the first hit.

Now, in such a world, do you think that your intellect would has grown the same amount in which you had to actually do proper research, encounter crazy people, cultures, controversies, jokes, people who wrote interesting enough stuff that you followed them, arguments you disagreed with but couldn’t quite dismiss, footnotes that led nowhere and everywhere at once, half-broken blogs, bad takes that forced you to sharpen your own, or sources that contradicted each other so hard you had to build a model of the world just to survive the tension?

I guess not. Because what would be missing isn’t information but the experience. And experience is where intellect actually gets trained.

“I’m Feeling Lucky” intelligence is optimized for arrival, not for becoming. You get the answer but nothing else (keep in mind we are assuming that it’s a good answer).

You don’t learn how ideas fight, mutate, or die. You don’t develop a sense for epistemic smell or the ability to feel when something is off before you can formally prove it…

If stars can hear no sunlit words,
    I shall create my own bright dream;
And charm it with the songs of battle.
A brother I to storm and chasm,
But to my battle dress I add
The star of fields - a fleur de lys.
~ “Conquistador in iron armor” by Nikolay Gumilev [1905, excerpt, translated by Leonid Strakhovsky]

Frankly, when I read it… I could not hold tears… hence the poem I recalled…
Thank you… thank you… dear Salih Muhammad (aka. larrasket; aka. lr0)…

  • Another ThinkPad to recommend for Linux, for an environment to trust! I have Debian with AwesomeWM on non-tablet awesome ThinkPad X201 i7 620M, chassis 3249CTO, I pre-purhased in 2010, and it works as a charm with KDE Plasma latest even! <3

Magnificent support for every single hardware module… iwlwifi for the Wi-Fi, Gobi 2000 SIM and GPS, too… Everything…

Some of the additional reviews of ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 And T16 Gen 5… Not only it looks like a miracle but works with Linux out-of-the-box, indeed!

Thank you, heartfelt… dear Artists, Developers, Managers, Analysts… Genius… ineffably magnificent People… for the infinitely awesome miracles you do…

  • Of course! I’ve been keeping your project in the memory since the moment I noticed the project is focused on actually supporting an individual, a unique worldview, a human… to help a human to continue developing their attitude, mind, self-organization, attitude towards knowledge and recreation…

I just believe you developed the project with your own hands, too, which would make it another invaluable example of a miracle to learn from… and here I would recommend it to everyone I know who still believes in self-confidence and accountability, too. To those who believe in effort and long-term priceless work of love to always remember and follow as an example of wise approach, to learn from.

Thank you, @[email protected] , for the human priceless effort… for the time-independent marvel, art you do…

Just in case, for the Lemmy client, in need for more comprehensible comments flow, you may find the following clients incredible, I would recommend, too:

  • Thank you… heartfelt… for an actually mature and adequate attempt for rationalization of the state of events…
Unfortunately, it seems the propaganda and children raising through local movies and socials with history retelling is too deep… some just do not care and consume, sorry, what they got used to and were raised with - lies, to the point they deny anything unmatching.

His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.

The essential English leadership secret does not depend on particular intelligence. Rather, it depends on a remarkably stupid thick-headedness. The English follow the principle that when one lies, one should lie big, and stick to it. They keep up their lies, even at the risk of looking ridiculous.

I do not see that related to science but outright childish attitude, when someone publishes a title “ape coding” laughing about programmers and people out loud. And, while “people do make mistakes” in various subjects and expertise experience, they should also suggest how they learned about it, and try finding solutions for their mistakes staying accountable, observant…

Yet, holy smokes! I am sorry, but where did you copy-paste that excerpt from?

Who knows? 5 people? 10? Only those who actually read it, and still not sure. Did they read it? Or did they also believe it’s written by AI? I tried to believe it’s written by a human when noticed its footer’s note. It was hard to believe knowing my fear of today’s trends, where many read is an empty dark where human time is voided.

The author also stated in comments at Hacker News that it is “fiction”. Yet, what is the main idea behind it then, nowadays, when just a few will actually read it?

Considering, how some modern attitude works for certain people, and how much power of trends and socials may offer, such terms get boosted over… and you just hope and keep believing in people…
