@[email protected] What do you think? I have a blacklist for common spam phrases that usually keeps the feeds relatively free of this stuff, but The Canary seems pretty adept at doing stories like this that don’t really have obvious keywords in the headline.

Could be. The overwhelming majority of people seem like they view it as a positive, but if you think of anything I can do beyond what I’ve already done to make it less impactful on the people who feel that it’s a negative, let me know. For example that’s why it’s segregated to a separate instance and not combined in with any other content so it’s easier to block.

(Actually, I think your instance has done something additional about it already, they marked a previous iteration with some kind of special flag that makes results from this instance not show up in the “home” feed which makes a good bit of sense to me. It might be worth checking if they’ve done that to ibbit.at specifically, they probably will want to if they haven’t already.)
