Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•I hate how inescapable politics are on Lemmy, but at least nobody's constantly asking how blind people wipe their butt or pick up their dog's poop then completely ignoring me when I try to answer.
81·2 months agoMy favourite part of Lemmybis being able to block communities and users, don’t live in America so it’s not my problem you got a tangerine hitler for a president, we got our own problems.

Environment@sh.itjust.works•Fury as 'Shamefully Weak' COP30 Draft Drops All Mention of Fossil Fuels
1·3 months agoUndoubtedly. However they’re not in the businesses of losing money, and once the majority of people realise for an upfront cost you can generate, store and use electricity to support yourself and the community, the demand for oil will substantially decrease thus driving the price higher; supply and demand, less demand, less extraction, higher price. Yes we need oil for a wide variety of products and services and it will be around for many years but, setting it on fire just to generate electricity, transport people and goods is a bit short sighted.

Australia@aussie.zone•Bread tags on long list of plastic items to be phased out in NSWEnglish
2·3 months agoWe moved to phase these out last year in New Zealand. They’ve been replaced with a flimsy pressed cardboard equivalent which is just as pointless as the plastic bag the bread comes in.

Aotearoa / New Zealand@lemmy.nz•Why You Should Join A Gang Instead Of Working
91·3 months agoQuestion that it didn’t answer though was that after avoiding being murdered or imprisoned and saving for a house outright, how can you show that you earned that money legitimately? Asking for a "friend ".
I beat cancer once, got my ass kicked by capricorn
Great show, agree it sucks big time it’s ended
As with current public chargers, these will increase exponentially. Businesses purely looking at the accounting will confirm the numbers are in favor of this transition. Its already happening here in New Zealand.
