United Kingdom@feddit.uk•‘Andrew Tate is dead’: inside the minds of 16-year-oldsEnglish
26·12 天前He is “just a meme now”, said some. Many others rolled their eyes, describing him as someone who still pops up online but doesn’t matter any more.
I’m glad (especially younger people) are waking up. I remember when I used to be in college like couple years ago, my classmates worship Andrew Tate which made me so uncomfortable as someone that is queer and knows he is homophobic. One of the many reasons why I dropped out.

Jokes beside, I wish they just leave Toy Story alone. Toy Story 3 to me felt like the real ending of the series and 4th film is meh…

1·13 天前Beside the triggers, I really did like the Steam controller. My favourite is the touchpad which makes noises which I associated with Fallout which is oddly pleasing to hear

13·13 天前My biggest bet is that Tai Ericson (The artist of that portrait) got Harry Potter second-hand somewhere which I sometimes see them in charity shops.
I feel torned about it. As someone that did experience doing breathplay from my abusive Ex which wasn’t consensual, it is scary how people who watches them forget that porn (especially more hardcore one) aren’t real and just wants to do without any further research of how you do it as safely you can. It’s beyond wreckless for those who don’t do it but still asked their partners to take part. Safety is key in BDSM.
That being said, I do feel like the issue with porn is that the adult industry is really exploitive to adult star, women especially. It needs to more regulation for both the studio that produce it as well as the website especially that hosted those videos from shady porn makers on their website. Banning strangling in porn isn’t going to solve it, it’s a half-assed effort at best.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Study finds 72% of Developers View Steam as Monopoly [from the overall pool, 75% of respondents were senior managers]English
7·20 天前I will also say is that major reason why Steam has an monopoly is that they have invested their resources to streamline the PC gaming experience and also make gaming on Linux better as well as Steam controller which also allows us to remap control layout.
None the alternative does that and are just another DRM-Storefront. That’s my major pet peeve with Steam alternative like Epic Games Launcher. Closest we have is GOG for to be able to download offline installer and most the games are DRM-free. Otherwise, I just would rather buy games on Steam as it just works for me… 🤷

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•YouTube Is Changing Its Guidelines For "Graphic Violence" In GamingEnglish
15·25 天前For people who want to read YouTube’s statement about updating the guidelines
-
Graphic gaming content. In addition to our existing guidelines around graphic gaming content, we will age-restrict an additional small subset of video game content featuring realistic human characters that focuses on scenes of torture or scenes of mass violence against non-combatants. We’ll consider several factors when reviewing this type of content such as:
-
Duration - If the graphic scene is sustained (rather than fleeting). For compilation videos, we’ll now consider the cumulative duration of all of the graphic clips combined.
-
Prominence - If the violent imagery is zoomed-in or the main focus of the scene
-
Realistic human characters - If the violence is happening to a character that looks like a real human
I just know that age-restricted videos don’t usually perform well and I have a bad feeling that we will see more censoring to make the video “monetizable”. I watched some gameplay or even review which has gameplay footage in the background so I’m concerned if that would affect review as well as I like knowing roughly what the gameplay would be like

RetroGaming@lemmy.world•Plasma TV recommendations? Looking for a decent 50+ inch display for older consoles.English
22·27 天前I doubt you can really buy those TVs anymore without it being a “Smart” TV. The best you can do is disable the Internet Connection on your TV. I have heard couple people suggesting commercial TV but I’m not too sure how great they would be for gaming and more made for well… staying on most the time, inside at a shop.

United Kingdom@feddit.uk•What went wrong with Pizza Hut?English
4·29 天前It was a decade ago but I remember about most of the time when my parents order at Pizza Hut, they keep getting the order wrong. Think that’s main reason why when ordering a takeaway, we usually tend to order a Chinese as one we tend to order barely get the order wrong, unlike Pizza Hut.

Casual Conversation@piefed.social•What is a heavily debated topic in your hobby? Can be anything from the influence of a movie director to the best brand of paint for WarhammerEnglish
4·1 个月前I mostly play emulation as it just good enough. I would only play on native if I really love the game or saw a game at a game shop that’s cheap and want to give it a try. Otherwise, I find if I play games on emulation, is often that I know or heard of a game that suppose to be good but want to try it for first time.
If it has PC Port and isn’t too bad (unless there’s mod to fix it), I would rather play that, especially if it’s a shooter games as I’m not too fond aiming on stick without gyro controls. Even if it natively doesn’t support it, I would try create controller layout via Steam Input which is super hacky

2·1 个月前Some games age like wine, others age like milk, and even more were just… rotten to begin with, haha. People often have a hard time differentiating between nostalgia and objectively good (and bad) game experiences.
This! Reminds me when I was playing OG Tomb Raider and the second game and while I love them, I be lying if I say that it doesn’t feel dated. The combat is my major pet-preeve of the game where I would rather cheese the combat selection as the guns doesn’t feel much special, the AI doesn’t feel either fair and it didn’t felt it took in mind of both Player’s tank control and also the automatic camera which is horrible. As soon as you fighting the Mummy in TR1, expect your camera jumping all over the place.
And people who want to make this a collection thing can fuck all the way off - I saw a Chrono Trigger cartridge priced at $350 in a local store, which itself was a kinda common game.
Reminds me when I was at CeX, seeing Slient Hill around £100 which upset me as I want to both try to it and also, I just love just owning a game and looking at it. Speaking of that, I need to boot up Duckstation and play Slient Hill as I played Resident Evil REmake on the Gamecube and I do want to try play more survival horror game

22·1 个月前Mine is interest in retro gaming which oh boy, there’s a lot:
- CRT vs Line-doubler device like OSSC and RetroTINK
- HDMI Mods/Adapters
- Native hardware vs Emulation
- Grading mint game and the price for it (I still see it as snake-oils)
- If [Insert old game] hasn’t aged well or is that person simply not good at it.
Bonus points if that person happens to be Gen-Z and comments selection bitching about Gen-Z. I hate the weird elitism retro-gaming community have which as a Zoomer, it does put me off wanting to play older games if I be judge for being too stupid to not get it straight away.

Thanks for linking me three post. I have just added schadenfreude rules and also rules up which I can imagine may changed overtime.
But that being said, I finally got my PieFed account sorted (excuse to try to see what the fuss is about with PieFed) and made the community, [email protected]
Any feedback to improve the community is welcome btw
