I think it was mainly removed on the apps but popular can still be used.
You can still use /popular on the apps. But I don’t know how different these two were (all vs popular)

19·3 months agoThe best strategy I found is to tell Reddit users to use both platforms. Lemmy doesn’t need to be the perfect alternative right away. They just need to test and see that the fediverse is not that hard to understand.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•To Lemmy people who came from reddit: Have you guys tried other fedi software like mastodon or sharkey?
9·4 months agoYea I use Mastodon, it’s great.
I wasn’t clear. I’m seeing this take on Spotify as if they are illegally tracking your listening habits.
We usually use track for apps like Facebook who track your behavior on your phone, in other apps, on your browser etc
Saying Spotify is tracking you in the wrap gives a wrong impression.
They are making a profile of your listening habits but it’s a normal thing for a music app to do. How else would you know the details of a song you just listened to or how can they recommend you new things.
It’s normal that they track what you listen to on their application. They send you recommendations based on your music taste.
It would be shocking if they sent you details about the books you’re reading or locations you’re visiting.
The wrap up is tracking you? This is the dumbest thing I’ve seen all year
It is reading. The medium is not the issue. Some people read romance novels or adventure novels, are they better than romance or adventure comics?
This is like going back to when books were considered bad because theatre was the main way to tell stories.
The discussion to have is about the topics these comic books are covering. Are they varied enough? Can everything be made into a comic?
But if having some illustrations is helping anyone to read, they should go for it.
What’s sad is that Americans are still hoping that their issues will get fixed politically. It’s too late for that. They have a dictator at the helm and they’re gonna have to fight for their country one way or another. Better to do it sooner than later.

1·1 year agoNot me but a friend stopped watching a show because they mentioned a country (just mentioned as in 1 sentence) and for them it was propaganda lol

Fediverse@lemmy.world•What is stopping corporations from hijacking the Fediverse by hosting massive servers?English
5·1 year agoAs long as it’s online and public they can acces the info. But we have tools to fight back. Some instances are private unless you’re a member, some choose to defederate, we can ban bots, etc
Nothing is perfect, it’s always an ongoing struggle.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why does it feel like evil is winning globally?
1·1 year agoIt’s not. We’re just more aware of it.
Don’t give in to despair!

So I’m trying /popular, I’ve noticed that posts don’t seem to refresh as fast as /all but it doesn’t seem tied to my location. I use JoeyForReddit There is a difference :(
