Thanks! I don’t actually have a hamster, I was just curious 😅 and hopefully, someone will find this thread at some point and it helps save some hamster babies

Yes.
On the bright side, at least the gif/jif/yiff debate will fade into obscurity.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•When do you think middle class people will be able to go to mars?English
6·19 hours agoProfessionally (like Apollo and Artemis)? Possibly within this century. And the first person setting foot on Mars will likely be a middle-class professional astronaut like Armstrong or Aldrin.
Privately? It’s going to be a while. Middle class people in any country still can’t even go to low Earth orbit, let alone the Moon or Mars.

1·19 hours agoIt’s more cost-effective to create horrible working conditions for people on Earth than to send them to Mars for it. Just set the launchpad somewhere with very lax worker rights’ laws (or better, somewhere where you can “lobby” for laws to become looser).
Being an evil robber baron is no excuse for inefficiency.

1·1 day agoI don’t think that would be nearly as cheap as sending robots to build the mansions and resorts.
What food do they need added to their diet?
Not sure. It’s been a while since I watched a transformers movie.

Didn’t the first(?) (The one where the main guy finds Bumblebee) movie have the government as the secondary bad guys?

7·2 days agoThe Entropy Centre is a largely Portal-inspired game that will require you to plan out what you’re doing even more than Portal. (Note: there are a few chase sequences and a few battle ones that break this pattern.) And there’s a cute robot called E, and your portal-gun-equivalent has an AI too. Basically, it’s Portal but the AIs are friendly.
And then there’s The Talos Principle series, which is even more like what you’re looking for.

Gaming@beehaw.org•Game Consoles Are Pricing Themselves Out of RelevanceEnglish
2·2 days agoWouldn’t that just make them… PCs?
I forgot to finish my argument earlier - that computers being convenient for gaming is why PC gaming will never fully die. But consoles can still have their hard-core gaming niche by specializing for high perfomance/price ratio and making it easier for devs to make games for them (not even exclusives, just regular ports).
Also, bring back a true physical media option or something. If I’m going to have to download a game/patch, I might as well use a PC.

8·3 days agoThe thing about “PC gaming” is that I already use a PC (laptop) daily, so it makes sense to also use it to play games rather than buy a separate device, especially if I mostly play cheap indie games with low spec requirements.
China is the most populous country, as well as one of the largest, to achieve this.
This was made possible due to the One China Policy (1 China = 1 China).

I think the simplest solution would be to have a mutual account in which both pay in what they can, and then use that to pay for mutual expenses like this.
From each according to their ability, to each according to their need.
