I’m quitting Christmas this year. No gifts, no attending the annoying semi-mandatory work Christmas party, none of this corporate crap which has encroached on a holiday that was once about family to me.
It’s not even December yet and it’s already been incredibly freeing not having to worry about any of it this year.
I’ll visit family, rewatch Gremlins, maybe put up some decorations, but that’ll be it. Should have opted out years ago.

Alright I’ll finally ask: In my Lemmy app (“Boost for Lemmy” on Android) your post’s first sentence shows “In my language removed is used”. I’m assuming the word you originally typed has been censored, but I’m not sure if this is a Lemmy thing, a lemmy.ml thing, or some app setting I missed.

Can others view the uncensored version of your post? Because then it’s probably something to do with the app I’m using.

This worked as a great reminder to ditch gmail. Just made the switch to Protonmail after a year of procrastination. Currently an hour into changing all my accounts to it, and about halfway done. Well worth it. They got a Black Friday deal right now. I went with the base Mail+Calendar package because I already got Mullvad for VPN, and don’t need cloud storage.
