I’m currently dating a recovering liberal, so to say. She’s a very smart person, and her disillusionment with liberalism happened even before we met. I openly talk communism to her, and she tends to agree with most of the stuff.

I live in Ukraine, so as you can imagine, liberals here have long since gone full fash. The situation here is a really good illustration for the old “scratch a liberal” adage: a lot of people have been more than scratched, and in response they’ve went absolutely rabid.

When I watched them dismantle USSR’s coat of arms on the Motherland Monument in Kyev, I had that wretched feeling in my guts. I have no motherland anymore.
