  • I’ve driven for Uber before, the driver app is buggy as all hell and I persinally refuse to do pet trips as they are so few and far between in my area that it really only hurts me if I want to make a steady income doing normal rides for the day. I frequently will open the app to see it randomly will toggle on pet rides and package deliveries despite me never trying to sign up for those services. The wrost part is as a driver, you have 10 seconds WHILE driving to accept of or deny the request so the only thing I can safely quickly look at is the ammount I am being offered for the trip and the estimated trip distance to make sure that ammount is worth my time. Once you accept a ride, you can see 0 information about that ride until you drop off your current rider, once the first rider is out, the only information for the next trip uber gives you is the pick up location and the name of the account. It’s put me in a lot of akward situations where someone ordered a pet ride and I show up and say they can’t have thier pet to find out they did in fact pay for Uber pets but Uber decided I was a Pet and package driver that day as well despite again NEVER signing up for those additional services.I feel loke not enough people actually sign up to do those and Uber tries to trick the drivers into accepting those kind of rides and once they realize it was a pet ride they canceled. As bad as that was for you, I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if you were also experincing Ubers own issues with drivers first hand there.

  • You can’t block the shorts, you can only tell them you are not intrested and they will come right back. As soon as I see them in my feed I always immediately click the 3 dot menu and not interested button and it’ll tell me it’ll suggest Shorts less frequently but I’ll see it again within a day or so if not again later in the same session of watching stuff. They are 100% shoving it down peoples throats and do not listen to user feedback on this. Hell I just went and checked my review in the app store from 2023 and I was complaining about the shorts reapearing immediately back then with no way of blocking them along with the app wanting to sign into any tv on the network that has the YouTube tv app. I literally can’t use the mobile app between shorts being shoved into my face and the app wanting to connect to someone elses tv ever time you open the app.

  • I have 7800x3D + RTX3080 and frequently run games at native 4k 60fps with mostly medium to high settings, or 1080p 120fps-240fps ultra, I can’t get this game to run at 60fps consistently at 1080p even when I put it on the lowest setting and put DLSS to preformance mode. If this system is struggling even with DLSS at 1080p to hold 60fps, I can not imagine how bad it is for the vast majority of machines out there. What really bothers me is it seems 100% intentional as the steam hardwear requirements tell you you need frame generation to even expect 60fps.

Until Vine and later tiktok, basically the whole Internet was in the horizontal format and vertical videos would play with huge black boxes on the left and right and in turn you can’t really make out the details of the videos as well because they were so small on those screens. Today’s internet is very different and has things actually designed for vertical videos so complaining about it makes no sense anymore.

  • From my experience, the problem isn’t the question itself but how and why it’s being asked. I’ve seen it used as a way of measuring one’s success because they believe everyone should want and have a family to be successful in life and if you don’t want or have that, you are treated differently and sometimes even as an outright failure to them.

  • I totally get what you are saying but think of the average user, they are not like most people on this site who know and are willing to fiddle with Tech. Plex is a media server, porn comes in all sorts of images, gifs, and videos which are all media files. If you already have a server set up, it’s as easy as adding a library and pointing it to the folder you want instead of signing up and configuring a whole new service that most users are not going to have the time or want to set up. Especially because before this push to share what everyone is watching on plex, it was all private anyways.

  • At the risk of being downvoted, these are the kind of responses I am getting absolutely sick of seeing. Someone just asked “why mac?” And your response is basically “are you dense or stupid?” And they get downvoted while you add nothing but an insult.

People seem to forget that not everyone knows everything, had the same upbringing, or the same experiences.

Everything I read says a lot of the younger generation just knows windows has the biggest OS market share for computers but they don’t even know how to navigate it because they grew up on android, ios, and chrome os so maybe that’s why they are asking why, because they have no idea what benefits a Mac OS machine would have over a Windows OS machine.

I mean hell, I know so many people who don’t realize that Samsung phones run a skinned version of Android so they say they run on Samsung and that it’s not an android when asked.

I bet because the current market share makes it so a lot younger generation doesn’t realize that Mac OS is or was marketed as a superior movie and photo editing OS and that’s why a company may choose Mac over Windows. Maybe the company just lets their employees buy specific Mac and Window machines as all their applicable software works with both OS and OP just had a preference of Mac over Windows. Either way your response adds absolutely nothing but insulting another human.
