In case anyone is interested, I made some videos to help explain both Kropotkin and Bookchin:

Tipping after paying is normal. Tipping in foreign currency is not. If it’s that large of a tip, and you explain the conversion rate, I imagine most people would be thrilled. But if an unknown or average amount in OMR is the only tip you give at a restaurant, their first reaction may be anger, as they will be expecting an approximately 20% tip in US dollars.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do libertarians and anarchists have a similar world view?
2·1 month agoThe term was original essentially a synonym for anarchist, being coined by Joseph Déjacque. Modern American libertarianism broke from its roots and promotes very un-anarchist perspectives. However, in my observation they do use anarchist framing and terminology. I view it as a right wing ideology for people who are attracted to the left. I believe, for this reason, libertarians are some of the easiest leftist converts.

There’s an app called “Notebooks” available in Moss
It’s free, open-source and online, but must run as an app and is still in Beta.
I find that if I just eat less, I start to feel sickly and unhealthy. I learned recently that when you lose weight, like 25% of it ends up being from muscle loss. Started lifting weights and eating extra protein while I diet, and it feels great, much easier. I feel energetic and healthy and the lack of food doesn’t bother me so much.
If the fish is not the type you are looking for or smaller than you want. Also fun.
The thing that might be hard for me to accept is certain liberation attitudes around children’s rights. I like the idea of children having freedom in the abstract, but I also think kids don’t have the capacity to responsibly have the same freedome as adults.

A while ago I mentioned to a German friend that I was visiting Andorra and he asked me where that was. I bet there are plenty of Europeans who don’t know where San Marino is either.

Arguably, I believe America is the oldest constitutional nation.
I recently visited a church with a painting of John the Baptist and Jesus and, well…

Out of curiosity, what do you usually choose? I would imagine men tend to be less likely to care, but also maybe more dangerous if they do happen to care.

I don’t understand why people frame hiking challenges as conquering nature. It’s clearly conquering your own internal limitations, not anything external. But framing aside, challenging yourself is a great thing to do.
