I haven’t changed anything on my Steam Deck, so no😅
Edit: I might also be mistaking the vulkan shader step with some other validation step

Since you seem to know way more than me about these things, could you tell me why I feel like I’ve never experienced these on a console (Playstation) and I experience it quite often on PC (Steam Deck)?

Linux gaming is good enough that I would consider not getting the Playstation 6 if I didn’t have kids and didn’t want to watch basketball through the nba league pass.
I’m trying to get my kids to play with the Steam Deck, but it’s honestly still not as good as a Playstation for such a use.
Still it’s going the right way.

It would be a good deal if you kept the games forever, but since they’re linked to your subscription, it ain’t worth it to me😇

Wow what a collection of lovely cars!
I guess it was a worthwhile visit to a museum!

Family sharing is a great idea, but for now it only works with one of the two games I bought for my kids.
Street Fighter V and Sonic All Star Racing work flawlessly on my profile, but Sonic doesn’t work on my kid’s profiles, which is weird as it’s supposed to support family sharing.

Well for now all the kids games were bought on Steam so it’s easy to just use the Steam family.
I guess I’ll stick to Steam games for them and try to get verified ones so that there is almost nothing to set up.
On GOG I only have adult games or old kid games that my kids would probably find too old because it ain’t Fortnite anyway, but I wish it was easy to share things in a family through GOG.
And I know the games are DRM free so I can just copy them, but I wouldn’t want to have multiple installs on my Deck which already doesn’t have enough storage…

I don’t agree as that’s why you can switch profiles.
Also the Deck is cheap, but what’s the point of having 3 devices when only one person is really using it and the kids would just it once in a while.
We have one kitchen so we can have one Deck😅

Why would you wish to be highly sensitive to an increase/decrease in fps.
That’s just a curse and you should be happy you don’t have it.
You can just enjoy more games with a cheaper pc/console.

People are criticizing Playstation, but I’m still really happy to have a Playstation 5 alongside my Steam Deck.
As much as I love playing old games on the deck and it has now become my main console, I’m happy to have my Playstation 5 for demanding games (mostly sim racing) and to watch blurays.
Having a powerful PC would not bring me the versatility my Steam Deck/Playstation 5/Surface Go 1 is giving me for now.
Although that might change if the Playstation 6 comes without blurays.
I don’t understand why some PC people feel the need to say consoles are useless, when it’s only to them that they would be.

Did you mean this? If there is nothing written, does it mean the game is DRM free as if we were on GOG?

Oh I’m gonna have a look at my games out of curiosity then.

How do you know if a Steam game is DRM free or not?
How do you install such games without Steam through Linux? Is it just an .exe and you click on it as I haven’t done it since probably the early 00’s?

I’m trying to buy 50% of my games on Gog because they avoir DRM and 50% on Steam because they’re great Linux supporters.
Still I can understand why Steam is ahead in terms to f sale as GOG has some progress to do.

Someone call the police as 140$ for such a great device is a steal.
I paid 300$ for mine and I’m almost not using my Playstation 5 anymore, except for really demaning games and Sim Racing.
It also allowed me to sell my Switch and its games for 239$, so you could say I paid 61$ for my LCD Deck with 256gb😅

XCOM 2 is a great game to play on the Deck. The touchpad are perfect for such games and I eouldn’t picture myself playing it with a mouse/keyboard or Playstation 5 controller.

I’m surprised to see that Apple is getting a 7/10 and is now lauded for their repairability, but that’s a good trend.

I have an LCD Steam Deck which I got used for around 300$ since I already have a Ps5 and the Deck was my first time trying pc gaming.
Because of how everyone was praising the OLED, I thought the screen would be bad, but it is awesome to my eyes.
The battery management is the annoying part of an handheld, but you also have it, maybe less, with the OLED.
If the prices were the same, I don’t see why someone wouldn’t get an OLED model, but it ain’t the case and I wasn’t be ready to pay more than 300$, so an used LCD was perfect.

Well thanks for all these infos.
I guess I’d need to improve my knowledge for such things.
