Is this the same guy who wrote the Harry Potter Rationalism fan-fic and started the ai worshipping cult?

Just Post@lemmy.world•TIL people will park under overpasses and block traffic to prevent hail damage.
3·8 months agoWhat a small world. I was driving south on 170 with my wife at that same time. We luckily were right before the exit to the Galleria when the hail started. We quickly ducked into their parking garage until the tornado had passed.

Leopards Ate My Face@lemmy.world•Lesbians Like Me Joined Forces with Conservatives. Now They’re Turning on Us. — Queer MajorityEnglish
50·8 months agoNormally I’m not a commenter, but reading this article made me cringe harder and harder as the article went on. Never have I seen someone so self confident in the decisions they made that are potentially going to ruin their own life. She was so happy to tell us how anti trans she was and still is, but she complains that her anti trans advocacy is now leading to discrimination against her. Truly a prefect leopard eating face moment. Hell, it seems like she still supports the leopard, despite her head being in it’s mouth.
Me too, it makes me so irrationally angry.

politics @lemmy.world•Elon Musk Is Trump's ‘Guest Who Wouldn’t Leave,’ Reporter Warns
191·1 year agoI don’t believe that theory. How does an ISP impact the functionality of a voting machine, especially when they have paper copies of the ballots? It’s not like they were running SpaceX software on the machine, just using it as an Internet connection to report results to a centralized database. Conspiracies like this are what we fought against in 2020, when the QAnon fools thought Hugo Chavez and Dominion stole the election from Trump.

4·2 years agoI’m with you, it’s really disappointing seeing it get this bad. It feels like Missouri has been trying it’s hardest to catch up to Texas and Florida, in fighting the culture war. Example: one of the Republican candidates for governor wants to get rid of the state’s department of education.
It’s not cool to generalize a whole region like that. You act as if the whole Midwest is a hive mind.

Technology@lemmy.world•FAA warns of possible defect in Boeing 777 enginesEnglish
26·2 years agoFTA: “As per FlightGlobal, the FAA’s proposal is the latest in a series of regulatory actions that have been taken in response to the discovery of iron inclusion in several types of GE Aerospace engines, including the GEnx and CFM International Leap turbofans. The GEnx powers Boeing 787 aircraft, while the Leap powers Boeing 737 Max and Airbus A320neo-family aircraft.”

Technology@lemmy.world•FAA warns of possible defect in Boeing 777 enginesEnglish
59·2 years agoSeems like the title is a bit deceptive. It mentions multiple airliners from both Boeing and Airbus, that are potentially in need of having engine components replaced, due to defects introduced by GE Aerospace.

I’ve worked for a Steel Company in that part of Arkansas before. In my experience what drove companies to move there were:
Wages weren’t really bad from what I remember. Many jobs starting at $80k, with good production bonus incentives. Though the work was often very physical with long working hours.
