Explanation: The Boston Tea Party, a pivotal event leading up to the American Revolution, was an incident wherein a group of American protestors dumped an entire shipload of British tea into Boston harbor in protest of British taxes (and selective enforcement of British taxes). Boston’s right to trade was quickly revoked by the British in response, with Boston harbor being blockaded by British ships.
Curiously, the Boston Massacre a few years earlier, wherein an angry mob attacked British soldiers and got a musket volley for their trouble, elicited no such reaction.
