Every election in Washington State is preceeded by an informational booklet that lists out the candidates and ballot measures being voted on. Candidates list their qualifications, experience, volunteering experience, and a brief statement. Ballot measures include what the measure is for, an argument from the “pro” side, an argument from the “against” side, and rebuttals to each argument.
Does California have a similar summary book? Iif so, I’d love to see what it says for Prop 50!
It comes down to if you think gerrymandering is a good thing or not, and if gerrymandering is a valid way to fight gerrymandering
If it passes, it will even out the gerrymandering efforts of the Republicans in Texas, who just changed their laws earlier this year to make the votes from their white Republican communities count more than the non white and non republican communities.
So if it passes, the net representation of people will stay the same because Texas has already changed those laws earlier this year to skew those numbers, and California would do the same to reduce the influence of white Republicans
