I had issues with a couple apps on mine (specifically on a non-AT and non-ActivityPub protocol), so I just deleted them off of my phone. Something had changed, and I’m a bit ticked.

I’m on GrapheneOS and only enable network permissions for WhatsApp once a fortnight to keep my Matrix bridge alive. I’ve not noticed any issues the last time it was enabled.

There was a major AWS outage that affected WhatsApp on the server-side for most of Monday (2025-10-20). Could that have been it?

Updated it two weeks ago through Aurora, and ever since I cannot send messages, and every message I receive is shown as “waiting for this message”. Deleted the app, downloaded the official apk from the website, and it still doesn’t work. So I feel it might be something with the OS?

Network effect. In a lot of places it’s kind of the default messaging platform for any kind of social interaction.

In my country it is like this, but I said ‘fuck it’ and deleted it anyway. If someone wants anything, they know where they can find me.
