I agree with the concept that electoral politics will not bring us the change we want but disagree with the notion that it isn’t beneficial to vote for lesser evil.

We exist in both paradigms. The worse evil does directly impact our lives, this isn’t debatable especially with Trump, so it makes sense to vote for lesser evil. Leftists are correct the lesser evil voting does not change the status quo (ratchet theory) but I view it as incorrect for leftists to moralize the act of voting to the point that if you vote you are not a leftist

They’re also forgetting whatever solidifies under trump will outlast him, so whatever grace the world thinks they have with Trump’s “incompetence” will soon be replaced by competence. As an American socialist who has to deal with the collapse into fascism there is no material reason for me to advocate for accelerationism

Maybe if we already had a basis for socialist revolution to save us it would make sense. But there isn’t, collapse just means something worse is coming.

So socialists from other countries are cheerleading the collapse of us imperialism, which is objectively fair. But I also have to wonder how wise that is considering what I said above, the US isn’t collapsing into a peaceful socialist state but instead a war hungry fascist state which does not put an end to imperialism but rather makes it more direct and brutal

Either way, tankies seem to only admire theory and countries that say they’re socialist but actually aren’t. If your idea of socialism does not expand the definition of democracy to the workplace all the way up, with recall of representatives where direct democracy isn’t pragmatic, I don’t think it’s even worth considering as an alternative.

Everyone is so used to consuming news not necessarily as entertainment but as background hum or as ammunition to confirm their ideology or dispel another. This isn’t wrong per se, but I think the consequence of constant barrage of war, disaster, tragedy, corporate abuse, political abuse at home and abroad desensitizes people to the possibility that these things can happen to them tomorrow right outside their front door.

They’re so used to the idea that theoretically the government has always been able to do whatever it wants to you they don’t realize how viscerally real it is that now they can do it without making excuses or cover ups, or under any pretense, and not only will no one do anything but millions will support the regime while you’re black bagged without due process. Authoritarian violence in America was always bad, but at least there had to be an excuse, a judicial system set up to defend cops who lie and say they felt threatened. Soon they will be brazen enough to snatch you up without pretense of a crime, without anyone knowing and without needing to explain themselves

They don’t realize how viscerally bad it will be for them when war breaks out no matter which side of that war they are on. Accelerationists are fucking clowns and they are not prepared for the world they’ve been jerking off to.
