As per the website there are around 900 active users servers on lemmy I recently joined the fediverse both lemmy and mastodon and tbh lemmy is more active. Mastodon is just an echo chamber only bots are reposting from reddit and twitter.

At this point I won’t be surprised if they add DRM on the whole site.

Is this for real? Every year they find a way to enshitify the platform. I use youtube mostly in browser and read comments all of the times.

As far as I know Motorola and Pixel are the only OEMs with no ads or bloatware. For samsung you need to debloat and turn off notifications.

Their ads are mostly self promotion and bloatware apps. In my device I had to turn off notifications for most of the pre installed apps.

There is a self hosted alternative for google photos if you have NAS. I don’t remember the name and it’s not nextcloud but that project have web and mobile apps to sync and they catalog photos with face and name similar to google. If you are specifically looking for storing and syncing photos mega.nz is decent but pricey alternatively pClound offers one time purchase during holiday season which is much more affordable.

All theses tech giants are either firing employees or increasing price and adding more subscriptions.

They are already spliting prime videos and amazon prime subscription.
