Technology@lemmy.world•PNG has been updated for the first time in 22 years — new spec supports HDR and animationEnglish
2·5 个月前That’d be the browser’s (or whatever app you’re using) fault, not the format. I guess you could choose to hate it for poor support.
Price sensitive consumers probably. Looking at EV prices here, you struggle to find better bang for your buck than the cheaper Teslas.

The fact that it says “Paid for by the Government of Canada” will allow them to shrug it off as propaganda and go “Why would Canada care so much if this was true!?”. I like the idea, but I fear it might have an even more polarizing effect…

Technology@lemmy.world•YouTube says goodbye to decade-old video player UI, but users hate the new designEnglish
24·8 个月前Speaking as a software dev, that’s probably not the case. They probably started completely from scratch and so the inclusion of features depends on reimplementing them on the new platform. It could be as simple as not being ready yet or maybe stats show them that so few people use the feature that they don’t find it worth reimplementing it.

61·9 个月前The real litmus test will be Q2 and maybe Q3 numbers. My country (Norway) probably has one of the highest number of Teslas per capita in the world, and I feel like a lot of people here are just sitting around waiting for the refreshed Model Y to be fully released.

31·2 年前No joke, I’ve been using Bing’s GPT-4 search and it’s helped me much more frequently than Google lately. AI might actually be where Bing out-competes Google.

61·2 年前This is literally perpetuated by schoolyard bullying. Anyone over the age of 20 will very likely be entirely out of touch with how big a deal green/blue is for pre-teens and teens these days. It’s pretty much a cornerstone in teen social structures.

There’s a nightmare scenario if I ever heard one.
I swear all these memes are generated by Trump’s own people.

4·2 年前Yeah can I get adblock on iPhone with Firefox?
Absolutely right - Signing up needs to be as easy as signing up for reddit. And same with searching for and subscribing to communities, even on other instances. Your average user wants the technical details of the Fediverse abstracted away from them. Anything beyond that and adoption won’t be what we (most of us?) would like it to be.

Technology@lemmy.ml•That Google memo about having ‘no moat’ in AI was real — and Google’s AI boss disagrees with it
5·2 年前Anyone able to tell me which open source AI models the memo might be referring to? I’m not up to date on the landscape here and would love to know more.

I agree this seems to be more a case of Europe having cracked the code on how to manipulate Trump. That being said, I feel like they’re walking a very fine line between dangling the keys to the kingdom in front of the baby, and handing them over.
